The Spice Girls were formed in 1994 and became the best-selling girl group of all time. Their most popular song, ‘Wannabe’, reached number one in 37 countries.  Their names are Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie C (Sporty Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice).

Components:

Baby Spice: Body by copperworks hot water bottles, Alfred Shirley Ltd, Unett Street, Birmingham. French pastry tin skirt by EA Allen & Co Loveday Street, with two car jack legs. Her head is a teapot from Swan with recycled ethernet cable hair. She is accessorised with dangling earrings, a bow brooch, plus a UNICEF badge to show her involvement with the charity.

Posh Spice: Body is a very early copper carriage hot water bottle by Alfred Shirley Ltd, Unett Street, Birmingham. She has car jack legs and a Swan teapot head, with pickle fork hands. She sports dangling earrings, a bow brooch and VB fashion brooch with David Beckham supporters club from the 1990’s.

Sporty Spice: Body is a 1960’s Triumph oil tank, and her arms are two Ford tractor spanners. Her legs are two antiquated car jacks. Again, she has dangling earrings, a bow brooch, and an Institute Songwriters association to mark Sporty’s achievement of being the only woman songwriter to write 11 number one hit singles.

Scary Spice: Body is an oil can from Anchorworks in Leicester. She has a French pastry tin skirt by EA Allen & Co Loveday Street, two car jack legs, and her head is a teapot from Swan and sons - surrounded by ethernet cable hair. She has dangling earrings, a bow brooch, and a vintage costume jewellery lion brooch from the 1960’s.

Ginger Spice: Body is art deco brown Bakelite loudspeaker made by British Thomson-Housten in Rugby, lined with a 1960’s Union Jack flag. She has a pastry tin skirt from EA Allen & Co. Her 'Girl Power' brooch represents the Spice Girls' mantra.
